Darren Gatling did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Bakersfield Blaze from losing, 9-8, to the Visalia Rawhide at Recreation Park. Gatling went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Ken Schuller sewed up the save, his 3rd. Visalia is last in the North Division with a record of 15-57.

In the bottom of the sixth, Visalia first baseman Mike Watson gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Blue Collar hit his 10th home run of the year. Bakersfield pitcher Miles Poore surrendered it. With that, the Rawhide jumped in front, 9-7.
