Reds Take Down Padres, 2-1
|
No one was more impactful than Alfonso Tejeda in the 2-1 Cincinnati win over San Diego. Tejeda was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. The winner in relief was Paul Edler. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The win puts Cincinnati at 5-6.
The Reds procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Jamie Schexnider. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Schexnider.
