66ers Need Extra Innings to Top Blaze, 13-12
The Inland Empire 66ers beat the Bakersfield Blaze in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 13-12, 66ers. One of the hitting stars was left fielder Jon Peterson. Peterson was 5-7 with 2 home runs and 2 doubles. He scored 4 times and drove in 5. The win was credited to Greg Powell in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Mike England took the loss. Inland Empire now sits at 27-47, while Bakersfield falls to 34-40.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Inland Empire center fielder Adrian Mosqueda, facing Ken Ralston, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the 66ers the 13-12 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Mosqueda. "It was a great win."
