Giants Knock Off Quakes at San Jose Municipal Stadium
|
Hurler Justin Paglione gave the San Jose Giants a solid start. The native of Whitehouse, Texas helped his team defeat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 3-1, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Paglione got the win, improving to 7-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Nick Woods, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
The Giants got a big at-bat from designated hitter Chris Taylor. For the game, Taylor was 1 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave San Jose a 3-1 lead.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Taylor.
