In a low-scoring affair between the Lake Elsinore Storm and the Lancaster JetHawks, pitcher Shane Hailey was the difference between victory and defeat. The Lake Elsinore right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Storm win. The winner was Hailey. He threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Seth Jackson. The win makes Lake Elsinore 30-46.
Jose Arita had a big solo home run for the Storm in the bottom of the third inning. With Lake Elsinore leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Seth Jackson, who is tied for 5th in the CAL with a 2.23 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Storm on top, 2-0.
"We found a way to win tonight," Hailey said.
