San Jose second baseman Caleb Franklin made his presence felt in the 10-4 Giants triumph over the Bakersfield Blaze. Franklin was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Jose has a record of 48-30, placing them second in the North Division.

Brian Kessler had a big 3-run home run for the Giants in the bottom of the sixth inning. With San Jose leading 5-3 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a cutter from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Cano and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Giants on top, 8-3.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Franklin.
