The High Desert Mavericks routed the Inland Empire 66ers, 11-2, at San Manuel Stadium. Mike Wells, who is tied for 2nd in the CAL in stolen bases with 32, was one of the hitting stars. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for High Desert. Fraser Jervis earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The Mavericks are now 44-34, while the 66ers fall to 37-41.

High Desert used a clutch at-bat from Miguel Gil to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mavericks ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"That was not our best effort," said Inland Empire skipper Jonathan Vasquez.
