Cubs Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over San Francisco
|
Chicago and San Francisco duked it out and the Cubs came out victorious.
The Chicago Cubs topped the San Francisco Giants, 4-1, in National League action at AT&T Park. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Parkland, Washington, native Aaron Hosey. Hosey, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Mario Gomez picked up the save, his 1st.
Esteban Castro, the 31-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Castro contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Cubs manager Vin Calia, "I like our chances."
The win has Chicago at 4-7.
