The Lake Elsinore Storm weathered an outstanding game by High Desert second baseman Sean Holloway to topple the Mavericks, 5-3. Holloway was 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Kisaku Takano. He is now 5-2. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2.2 innings. Tony Gomez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.

Lake Elsinore used the timely hitting of Josh Peek to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Storm on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Peek attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
