All went well for Armando Galvez of the Visalia Rawhide as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 3-0, over the High Desert Mavericks, limiting them to 2 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Galvez on the day.

"Armando's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Rawhide manager Steve Deemer. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

In the contest, the Visalia right-hander rang up 10 and surrendered 4 walks.

"He didn't give us any second chances," said Mavericks manager Jose Sierra. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."

So far this season, Galvez has a 9-5 record, 17 starts, 121.1 innings, 133 strikeouts and a 2.97 ERA.
