The Stockton Ports and High Desert Mavericks obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Stockton right fielder Steve Morgan contributed significantly to his team's 6-5 win over the High Desert Mavericks. Morgan went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Ports. Angelo Buckland came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-5. Antonio Arroyo earned save number 1 this season.

Stockton took a 5-3 lead on Morgan's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Justin Kolb in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Stockton to the win.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Morgan, "and then get after it again."

The last-place Ports are 32-53.
