Another day, another victory for the red-hot Visalia Rawhide.

The Modesto Nuts got a sterling performance from pitcher Tom Valko, but the Visalia Rawhide still prevailed, 7-5. Valko threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Luke Gadsden was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. The save was credited to Juan Fierros, his 8th.

Michael Blackstone aided the Visalia cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3.

"I feel like we're rolling now," Blackstone told the Visalia Bulletin."The dugout is coming alive."

By defeating Modesto, the second-place Rawhide improved to 48-38.
