Quakes Pin 3-1 Loss on Lake Elsinore
|
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes got a magnificent effort from pitcher Pablo Pena, who kept Lake Elsinore hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Quakes win at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The winning pitcher was Pena, now 8-6. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The Quakes now have a mark of 60-26.
Rancho Cucamonga used the hitting of Eddy Marquez to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Quakes on top, 3-0. For the game, Marquez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Pablo was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Rancho Cucamonga manager Arnold McAfee.
