Storm Win 3-1 Nail-Biter Versus Quakes
|
The Lake Elsinore Storm had to weather a strong performance from Rancho Cucamonga pitcher Jason Shafer before claiming a 3-1 win in 10 innings. Shafer went 7 innings and allowed no runs. With the victory, the Storm record stands at 52-35.
The decisive blow was delivered by Aaron Thomas in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Cruz to win the game for Lake Elsinore. The home crowd went nuts.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Thomas.
