Mavericks Get Past San Jose for 3-2 Win
Chris Gormley, who is tied for 6th in the CAL with a 10.7 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the High Desert Mavericks against the San Jose Giants at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The 4th-place Mavericks have a record of 38-51.

High Desert used the timely hitting of An-yi Sha to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mavericks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Tough loss," said San Jose manager Elwiin de Lange. "But that's how the cookie crumbles."
