Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the High Desert Mavericks and Lancaster JetHawks.

The High Desert Mavericks overcame a pretty good performance by Lancaster first baseman Bobby Burke, beating the JetHawks, 6-5, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Burke slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. High Desert reliever Jorge Segura picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Justin Matthews took the loss. David Nanney finished to wrap up his 6th save.

C.J. Clanahan helped out the High Desert cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We all want to win," said Clanahan. "We all want to do our part."

High Desert now sits at 37-52, while Lancaster falls to 54-35.
