Nuts Handed 2-1 Loss by Inland Empire
|
The Inland Empire 66ers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Modesto Nuts at San Manuel Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Sam Kohler. He was terrific. Dave Banaszak earned the save for Inland Empire, his 3rd. Inland Empire is in last place in the South Division with a record of 26-64.
The 66ers got a big at-bat from first baseman Kevin Thompson. For the game, Thompson was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Inland Empire a 2-0 lead.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Modesto manager Steve Kamps.
