The Lancaster JetHawks defeated the High Desert Mavericks, 4-2, at The Hanger today. Leading the charge for Lancaster was left fielder Angel Perez. He was 3-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2. Mike Hewitt, the winner, improved to 4-7. He held High Desert to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Ben Montgomery closed the door for Lancaster, picking up his 7th save of the year.

Perez had a key at-bat for Lancaster early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 9th triple of the season and gave Lancaster an early 1-0 lead.

"We did a lot of things right," said Perez.

With the win, the JetHawks hiked their record to 46-44.
