The Stockton Ports had to overcome a fine effort from High Desert pitcher Tom Maki to win, 3-2, at Banner Island Ballpark. Maki went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Mike Zadrozny notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. With the win, the Ports improved to 29-61.

Omar Guerrero was the walk-off hero for Stockton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ports pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We had a hellacious effort," said Ports manager Mark Zoss. "We hung in there and hung in there."
