The Texas Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners, 10-3. Texas pitcher and Salt Lake City, Utah, native Pat Yarnall led the way. For Seattle, now 1-11, the season is off to a dismal start.

Edwin Arroyo had a big solo home run for the Rangers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Texas leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a changeup from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Ron Payne and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-1.

"Pat pitched like a champ," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi.
