San Jose starter Jason Cranford pitched well against the Stockton Ports at Banner Island Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. San Jose reliever Ryan Briggs picked up the win to move to 6-6. Ricky del Toro suffered the loss. Brian Young finished the game for San Jose and earned his 6th save.

San Jose used a timely hit from Alvaro Pena to get the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Jason was in attack mode the whole game," said San Jose manager Elwiin de Lange.

San Jose is first in the North Division with a record of 56-37.
