66ers Get 6-2 Win Versus High Desert
The Inland Empire 66ers knocked off the High Desert Mavericks, 6-2, in California League action at San Manuel Stadium. Inland Empire pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Frank Vargas had an outstanding performance. The last-place 66ers hiked their record to 33-61.

Chris Gautreaux took High Desert hurler Danny Padilla deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the 66ers on top, 3-2. In all, Gautreaux had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said High Desert manager Danny Alonso. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
