The timely hitting of Matt Manning helped the Modesto Nuts down the Stockton Ports, 8-7. Manning was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Nuts. Modesto reliever Jesus Camarillo got the win, raising his record to 5-2. Manzo Ishii was tagged with the loss. The Nuts own a robust 64-33 mark.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Modesto trailing 7-5, Manning jumped on a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Manzo Ishii and hit a 3-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Nuts had a walk-off win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Modesto manager Josh Weddington.
