Bakersfield and High Desert got after it at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark.

The Bakersfield Blaze topped the High Desert Mavericks, 11-3, at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield right fielder Scott Hollifield was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The Blaze raised their record to 47-53.

Hollifield contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Bakersfield in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Hollifield took a sinker from Dè Campechano and stroked the home run to center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Blaze to leap in front, 3-2.

High Desert manager Danny Alonso said: "You try to find positives. We have to regroup and put this game behind us."
