Rancho Cucamonga Dealt 4-2 Defeat
|
Inland Empire pitcher Frank Castro did his part in helping his team beat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Castro. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Tommy Harris. Picking up his 6th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Graviel Longo.
In the bottom of the fifth, Inland Empire catcher Alberto Arteaga had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Arteaga stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-2, Inland Empire. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Castro.
With the win, Inland Empire has a record of 42-58. Rancho Cucamonga falls to 58-42.
