Rancho Cucamonga turned a good performance from starting pitcher Manuel Carrasco into a 7-2 triumph over the Inland Empire 66ers at San Manuel Stadium. At 59-41, the Quakes find themselves in first place in the South Division.

The 66ers had their hands full with Carrasco, who overpowered Inland Empire hitters while racking up 10 strikeouts.

"I had one goal in mind," said Carrasco. "Keep pounding the zone."
