Phillies Score Late, Clip Braves, 6-5
|
Though he had a stellar game, Kai Robinson could not prevent his team, the Atlanta Braves, from losing, 6-5, to the Philadelphia Phillies. Robinson was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia reliever Joseph Woodley picked up the win to move to 2-1. Willie Ortiz suffered the loss. Now 4-8, the Braves have gotten off to a poor start.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Mark Fasciana to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Phillies on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Philadelphia manager John Lucidi.
