No one was more impactful than Bubba Bowers in the 4-2 Bakersfield win over Visalia. Bowers threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Bowers, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Blaze, at 48-53, sit in 4th place in the North Division.

Jon Belknap had a big solo home run for the Blaze in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Bakersfield leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tyler Taylor and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Blaze on top, 3-1.
