Nuts Win with Late Rally
John Thurman Field was the site of some high drama.

The Modesto Nuts picked up a win at John Thurman Field, knocking off the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-3, in 11 innings. Starting pitcher Jay Kelleher played a key role in the conquest. Modesto has run its win streak to 8 straight.

The Nuts got a clutch hit from third baseman Ken Valasek. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Nuts.

"We're playing like we're capable of," said Modesto manager Steve Kamps.
