The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes picked up a win at LoanMart Field, topping the High Desert Mavericks, 5-4. On the mound for Rancho Cucamonga was right-hander Carlos Vasquez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Nate Parsons got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. The triumph puts Rancho Cucamonga at 56-47 for the season.

Tony Chavez had a big 3-run home run for the Quakes in the bottom of the third inning. With Rancho Cucamonga leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Gabe Giron and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Quakes on top, 5-0.

"I liked his command," said Rancho Cucamonga manager Francisco Rosales. "Carlos was throwing strikes."
