Orioles Losing Streak at 6 After Extra-Inning Loss to Rays
|
The Tampa Bay Rays picked up a win at Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Jason Lento played a key role in the triumph. The loss puts Baltimore at 5-8.
The decisive blow was delivered by Israel del Valle in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Tsuneo Tanada to win the game for Tampa Bay. The home crowd went nuts.
"I'm happy we won," said Lento. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
