Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Bakersfield Blaze and Stockton Ports.
Guillermo Lopez pitched a gem to lead Bakersfield to victory over the Stockton Ports, 3-1. Aaron Craig earned the save, his 14th.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Cruz Haese? The 23-year old left fielder Haese stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Bakersfield up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Stockton manager Jon Rosales. "Obviously."
Bakersfield, now 53-54, holds down third place in the North Division.
