Guardians Pick Up 3-1 Win Against Minnesota
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins, 24-year old left-handed pitcher Morgan Dunphy was the difference-maker. The Cleveland left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Dunphy picked up the win for Cleveland, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. With the win, Cleveland climbs to 7-6.
The Guardians got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Wade. For the game, Wade went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Cleveland a 2-1 lead.
"Every loss hurts," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling. "But this was a tough one."
