Inland Empire Rallies for 2-1 Victory
|
The Lake Elsinore Storm got a superb performance from pitcher Hugo Gomez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Inland Empire. The 66ers won the game, 2-1. Gomez threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win went to Mike James in relief, making him now 1-0. Mike Domzalski took the loss for Lake Elsinore. Inland Empire, with the win, climbs to 38-71.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 22-year old first baseman Alessio Canonica had a chance to be the hero. Lake Elsinore pitcher Jonathan Remien wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Canonica hit a sacrifice fly. The 66ers had themselves a thrilling win.
"Exhilarating win," said Canonica.
