The San Jose Giants converted a terrific effort from starter Mike Kelley into a win over the Bakersfield Blaze at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The Giants won the game by a final score of 8-0. At 67-42, the Giants claim first place in the North Division.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at San Jose Municipal Stadium seemed to enjoy watching the California League action.

"Mike was fantastic," said San Jose manager Elwiin de Lange. "Great passion, great pace."
