Ports Collect 5-2 Win Versus San Jose
The Stockton Ports topped the San Jose Giants, 5-2, in California League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Stockton pitcher Sean Benes. Matt Johnson earned save number 10. The last-place Ports are now 39-74, the Giants 55-58.

The Ports got a big at-bat from center fielder Lorenzo Zaragoza. For the game, Zaragoza went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Stockton a 2-0 lead.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Zaragoza.
