The Inland Empire 66ers and Rancho Cucamonga Quakes provided some drama for the home crowd.

A 4-RBI performance from Matt Thomson, who is tied for 2nd in the CAL in stolen bases with 42, helped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes beat the Inland Empire 66ers, 6-5. Jake Young recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 18 for 21.

It could have been a different outcome for Rancho Cucamonga, had it not been for Josh Crowell, the 24-year old third baseman . Crowell contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Rancho Cucamonga up, 6-5.

"Even warm beer tastes good after a win," said Crowell.

Rancho Cucamonga, at 82-31, is 12 games up in the South Division.
