Storm Get Thrilling 2-1 Win
|
The Lake Elsinore Storm downed the Visalia Rawhide, 2-1, in 11 innings. Julian Hencleeday led the way, going 4-for-5 for Lake Elsinore. Lake Elsinore reliever Mike Domzalski picked up the win, upping his record to 8-7. Cesar Fernandez took the loss. Their 53-61 record puts the Storm third in the South Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Grant Bachman in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle McKee to win the game for Lake Elsinore. The home crowd went nuts.
During his postgame press conference, Storm manager Danny Morton told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
