Stockton pitcher Cory Brunner did his part in helping his team beat the San Jose Giants, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Brunner got the win, improving to 4-13. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Alex Dezesus nailed down the save.

Stockton used the clutch hitting of Steve Morgan to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ports ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"I was a little disappointed," said San Jose manager Elwiin de Lange. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Stockton is last in the North Division with a record of 46-69.
