Rancho Cucamonga Rallies for 7-6 Victory
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes spoiled a good performance by Modesto shortstop Bill Carroll, bumping off Modesto, 7-6, at LoanMart Field. Carroll was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Kai Cunningham earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-2. Lee Lewis recorded the save for Rancho Cucamonga, his 24th of the season.

Had Josh Guess not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Guess hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Quakes.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Guess.

Rancho Cucamonga has a record of 70-48, placing them first in the South Division.
