The High Desert Mavericks picked up a win at Stater Bros. Stadium, knocking off the Stockton Ports, 6-1. Starting pitcher Sal Villalba was a big reason why. Simon McAfee was credited with the save for High Desert, his 1st of the season. The Mavericks now have a mark of 64-55.

Jose Mejia hit a 2-run triple off Mike Pigg in the bottom of the first, which put the Mavericks in front, 2-0. Mejia had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
