Mavericks Claim 4-1 Win
|
Pitcher Eddie Serrano was sensational for the High Desert Mavericks in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Lake Elsinore Storm. Serrano earned the win. Serrano, now 3-7, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. David Nanney converted his 8th save in 12 tries.
Angelo Tovar, who is tied for 5th in the CAL in bases on balls with 68, had a direct impact on the outcome. Tovar contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put High Desert up, 2-1.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Serrano said. "And the same is true when you lose."
With this game in the books, High Desert is 46-75, Lake Elsinore 58-63.
