A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Stockton Ports and Lancaster JetHawks.

The Stockton Ports trumped the Lancaster JetHawks, 5-3, at Banner Island Ballpark. Stockton catcher Chris Bell was terrific. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Bob Love was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Steve Mitchell was credited with the save for Stockton, his 17th of the season.

Early in the game, Bell had a grand slam home run for Stockton. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Ports on top, 4-0.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Stockton manager Emilio Flores.

With the victory, the Ports upped their record to 61-61.
