Giants Hold Off Nuts, 1-0
|
The San Jose Giants claimed a close win over the Modesto Nuts, due in large part to Ethan Sanders. The San Jose left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. The second-place Giants now sit at 74-52.
Tim Monceaux had a direct impact on the outcome. Monceaux contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Jose up, 1-0.
"The old adage is true," said Monceaux. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
