Bakersfield turned a good effort from starter Jesus Gonzalez into a win over the San Jose Giants at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The Blaze won the game, 4-2. Picking up the save was Jared Skinkis, his 27th. The win makes Bakersfield 62-66.

The Blaze got a big at-bat from right fielder Jonathan Leach. For the game, Leach went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Bakersfield a 4-1 lead.

Gonzalez attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
