Boyd has 4 hits tonight to Power Dodgers Offense
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers trumped the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3, at Dodger Park. Los Angeles second baseman Dan Boyd was terrific. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. David Revis got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Mike Rumschlag closed the door for Los Angeles, picking up his 1st save of the year.
John Spohn had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the eighth, when he hit a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put Los Angeles on top, 8-2.
"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Spohn. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
With the win, Los Angeles is 7-6.
