Buffington Lifts Cubs to 9-8 Triumph
Chayton Buffington added some punch to the Chicago offense, helping them outmuscle the Cincinnati Reds, 9-8. In the game, Buffington went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Andrew Gray got the save, the 4th for him this season. The win puts Chicago at 7-5.

Hector Naranjo, who finished 5th in the NL in stolen bases with 44 last year, took Cincinnati hurler Mike Gehrls deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Cubs on top, 7-4. In all, Naranjo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Naranjo.
