Cincinnati Absorbs 5-3 Loss to San Francisco
The inspired effort of Cincinnati third baseman Gerardo Machado was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-3, to the San Francisco Giants. Machado slugged 2 home runs. Men Pimentel earned the save for San Francisco, his 1st of the year. Cincinnati is now 9-7.

Ryan McClure had a big bases-clearing double for the Giants in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco trailing 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from Bryan Brown and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-2.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," McClure told the San Francisco Citizen.
