The Los Angeles Angels got a superb performance from first baseman Matt Evans. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tampa Bay. The Rays won the game, 6-4. Evans was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Vinny Gutierrez got the win, improving to 3-1. He held the Angels to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Los Angeles, now 1-16, has gotten off to a terrible start.
