Minnesota Picks Up Another L
|
The Boston Red Sox downed the Minnesota Twins, 5-1, at Target Field. Stellar pitching by Eric Huffman had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, handcuffed his opponent all game. Huffman yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-0. The win gives Boston a record of 10-6.
Boston used the hitting of Bryan Clair to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Red Sox on top, 1-0. For the game, Clair had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said losing manager Chris Greuling: "The only way to escape your past is to be better than your past."
