The Minnesota Twins knocked off the Boston Red Sox, 8-4, in American League action at Target Field. Minnesota pitcher and Oostpunt, Curaçao, native Dean Schuurmans had an outstanding performance. Adrian Tipton finished the game for Minnesota and earned his 1st save. Boston now is 7-9.

Daniel Pereyra had a big 2-run home run for the Twins in the bottom of the third inning. With Minnesota leading 3-2 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Moorehead and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 5-2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pereyra told the Minnesota Herald.
