Late Rally by Rays Locks Up 7-3 Win
|
Tampa Bay took on Baltimore in front of a lively crowd.
Tony Aguilar made an impact in the 7-3 Tampa Bay win over Baltimore. Aguilar, who is tied for 7th in the AL in RBI with 13, was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tampa Bay reliever Tim Berigan was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Jalen Cowherd.
Tampa Bay needed the clutch hitting of Aaron Hayes to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rays on top, 4-3. For the game, Hayes had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Hayes told the Tampa Bay News. "But we take nothing for granted."
The loss makes Baltimore 10-7.
